Just to complement last post...let's mention Dot, Aardman's stop-motion that is considered the smallest! Shot with a Nokia N8, this short shows the minuscule world of a tiny character as she faces several dangers. Check the making-off below as well!
Esta é considerada a maior animação de stop motion - a maior cena tinha seus 1021 m². Foi filmada do topo de um guindaste com uma máquina Nokia N8. A história é sobre um dia de um pescador (bem "conto de pescador" mesmo) e foi realizada pelo estúdio Aardman. Coloquei o making-of abaixo também, é muito interessante!
This is considered to be the largest stop-motion animation there is - the largest scene stretched over 11000 square feet. It was shot from the top of a crane with a Nokia N8. The story is about a fisherman's life and the animation was done by Aardman. I've also added the making-of below, it's really interesting!
Este curta tem um estilo bem original, envolvendo não só o design dos personagens e do ambiente, mas também a animação. Foi criado pelo diretor/animador Isaac King, que tem experiência na direção de curtas e comerciais usando técnicas variadas de animação.
A maneira de contar a hisória é ótima e o desenrolar dos acontecimentos também. É sobre vizinhos que lidam de forma contrastante com o tempo e com coisas - daí o nome "segunda mão", que remete ao ponteiro do relógio e à reutilização de bens. É uma animação cativante e surpreendente, espero que goste :-)
This short has a very original look, involving the design of characters, environment and the animation as well. It was created by animator/director Isaac King, who has experience directing shorts and commercials using various techniques of animation.
The storytelling is really great. It's about neighbours that deal very differently with time and goods - hence the name second hand. It is a very fresh and surprising animation, I hope you like it :-)

This funny short was done as a graduation project by Tin Tey at the Academy of Art University. It's about how people act differently when there are obstacles in the way, but with animals as characters. I suppose this qualify as a fable? :-) Visit the author's page for informations about him.

Feito por Arc Productions, do Canadá, este curta divertido é sobre um porquinho que vai tentar as mais mirabolantes estratégias para alcançar um pote de biscoito - claro que não será fácil. Posso falar sobre quão bem-feita é a animação, mas vale mais a pena conferir com os próprios olhos logo de uma vez. :-)
This funny and very nicely executed short by Arc Productions, from Canada, is about a little pig that will use the craziest strategies to get to a jar of cookies - of course, that can't be too easy. I could talk about how well-done this animation is, but it's better to just check it out and see. :-)

"As misteriosas explorações de Jasper Morello" trata de um jovem navegador (sim, Jasper Morello) que vive em uma cidade tomada por um tipo de praga. Ele é chamado para trabalhar em uma nave e precisa deixar sua esposa, que acaba pegando a estranha doença.
Durante a viagem, uma possibilidade de cura aparece, mas o preço a pagar pode ser muito alto.

Since the post "The Invention of Love" was based on this short, I thought I'd share this source of inspiration too. With a steampunk style, the animation is done in silhouette by Australian director Anthony Lucas.
"The Mysterious Explorations of Jasper Morello" is centered on a young navigator (yep, Jasper Morello) that lives in a city taken by a kind of plague. He is called to work on a ship and has to leave his wife which ends up catching the strange sickness. During the trip, a possibility of cure appears, but the price to pay might be too high.

Este curta de Fabrice O. Joubert se passa num café parisiense e gira ao redor de um homem de negócios um tanto sério e fechado que descobre não ter dinheiro para pagar um cafezinho. É interessante que o filme foi feito usando apenas uma câmera fixa e que para contar melhor a história e mostrar as ações e reações dos personagens, tem-se um espelho ao fundo do café.

This short from Fabrice O. Joubert tells the story of an uptight businessman that finds out he doesn't have his wallet to pay for a cup of coffee. It's interesting that the film was shot with one locked camera, so to show the actions and reactions of the characters there is a mirror in the back of the café.

Done by a group of students of the Animation Workshop, in Denmark, this 3D short tells us the story of Biôrn, a viking that wants to die an honorable death in a combat to go to Valhalla, the viking paradise - a place full of drinking and debauchery. Unfortunately for him, it's not easy dying the right way...
